SB Mentoring is a brand-new, school-based mentoring program for children in Chamberlin, Orchard, and Rick Marcotte Central schools in South Burlington that matches caring, respectful adults in the community with a wonderfully diverse group of children in grades 1 through 4 for child-focused activities that are fun, engaging, and meaningful for both the adult and child.  Mentors are asked to give one hour of their time per week when school is in session.

 

 First Year of operation: 2011
Minimum age for mentor: 21
Minimum time commitment: 1 hour/week
Minimum length of commitment: 1 calendar year

Friends for Youth Mentoring Conference

April 18 - 19 at Oracle Santa Clara Conference Center

Friends for Youth is hosting its 14th Annual Mentoring Conference in Santa Clara, CA. This year's conference features David DuBois, Ph.D., and Michael Karcher, Ed.D., Ph.D., as Research Keynote Speakers, who will discuss the new second edition of the Handbook on Youth Mentoring.
