Connecting Youth Mentoring helps support 5th-8th grade students in achieving their potential through close, personal relationships with caring adults in the community. Adults volunteer to spend one hour per week with their student at school, participating in activities together such as games, arts and crafts, sports, cooking, and conversation. Mentoring matches are voluntary, made with the support of young people’s parents and teachers. There is a careful screening process, and all mentors receive ongoing training from Connecting Youth and school staff.
